Benefits & Requirements
The benefits of participating in Policy to Performance are to:
- Receive training, technical assistance and ongoing support on how to develop and advance state policy that will further adult learners moving from Adult Basic Education to postsecondary education, training, or employment.
- Have access to high quality online policy development and implementation resources and tools.
- Have a coach dedicated to work with the state team for 25 months.
- Participate in national events with U.S. Department of Education leadership and policy development experts.
- Be involved in a cross state online learning community.
- Have access on an as needed basis to national experts who will provide consultative services directly to state teams.
States selected to participate in Policy to Performance agreed to engage in the following technical assistance activities:*
- Participate in all state technical assistance and provide leadership.
- Attend the Policy to Performance pre-institute training session at the Adult Basic Education State Directors Meeting in Washington, DC (February 1, 2010).
- Identify and recruit Policy to Performance state team members (February – March, 2010).
- Participate in two (2) Policy to Performance National Webinars (March 2010 and March 2012).
- Attend two (2) two-day Policy to Performance National Meetings in Washington, DC (March 30 & 31, 2010 and April 2012).
- Complete and submit an Action Plan for your state (May 15, 2010).
- Work with an assigned coach for 25 months via e-meetings, phone conferences and site visits to assess progress, identify challenges, suggest expertise and resource and document implementation of states’ activities (March 2010 – April 2013).
